Recipe

I cooked siopao last week. It was my first time to make that siopao I had in the Philippines. Wow ! ! when we are away from our country or from the family, we've got to learned so many things specially cooking. It's like making a tryout but it turned out right. So happy for that and my Sweety had it for the whole week as lunch. That was amazing that he does not have to buy foods or even to go out to eat.
I made a beef siopao. Yeah, I know it's new to all of you but it was really good. I didn't had ground pork at that time and couldn't wait.

I love trying new things but not quiete that adventurous yet. LOL I love cooking too and not a good cook yet hehhe. It just so fun to have your first try.

Every Morning

I was actually told over and over in my mind and in my heart to share this feeling to everyone who'll be reading my blog. Praise God every morning, thank Him for the awesome goodness or even the bitterness of our lives, for it is new every morning. Every morning - is a new life for all of us.
I know it is hard to do that specially in the bitterness of our lives but let me share this passage for you :

Romans: 8:28 - And we know that God causes things to work for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Let us realize how wonderful it is that God is our Father that He gave us every morning of new hope and peace of mind.

This song would remind you of everything : Great is Thy Faithfullness

A prayer wouldn't hurt to start our day. It will uplift us for the rest of our days, our plans and desires. No one knows what's best for us but only Jesus. So let us not forget that He is always there for us no matter what. In this times we have no one to hang on but to HIM. For it says :

Matthew 11:28 - Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I hope that this piece of encouragement (simply written) would help us draw more closer to God.

God Bless everyone ! ! !

Clogged sinks

Grrr... our sinks has been clogged for two weeks already. 2 weeks :O it's really surprising how come it's never been resolved. I don't know what's been dumped there by me or my husband since it's only the two of us here in our house. It could mostly be blamed by me because I often use it a couple of times everyday.
We tried a lot of clogging device like the snakes and some sort of stick. My husband did it one night ( that's his only vacant time) and it didn't work. While he was doing this, I remembered that in the Philippines we only used a stick or even a broomstick to take out the clogged drainage or sink. We tried it and it didn't work. So left it clogged and finally the next night decided to go the store for a commercial stuff to help with this problem.
So here we are, we got this DRAINO called stuff. It's liquid and glue. It supposedly act as a mechanism to take all this stuff that causes the clog. Here's more- money back guarantee and so wow ! if it does not work let's take it back to the store. Ok enough with that money thing, it actually didn't work. Sigh ! ! Our problem is probably too much for this Draino to handle. We didn't take it back to the store to get our money. I mean it's ok and it's just a few dollars.
Next stop- WALMART to get another kind. It's called Main Line Cleaner and there's the big Guarante to work marked on the side of the container. So we agreed we'll give it a try. It's a lot more expensive than the first one we got. Poured the whole gallon to the sink and leave it for 7-8 hours as it says on the direction. The following day, poured very hot water assuming that 7-8 hours had passed. I had the biggest smile for it actually worked. I hope it will continue to be like that. I have to be very careful though not to put anything on the sink so it won't happen again coz it's definitely a pain in butt.
One thing, please be very careful using this kind of stuffs, cause it can cause some harmful effects to your skin or even to your whole body. Read the directions carefully before doing or pouring it.

Proud wife

What an amazing thing to say "Prince". You might say, is she in UK or in a palace? Well, not really :) my husband and I have our own palace and that is our house. WE consider each other as Prince and Princess. That is how we treasure our lives together. When we first meet way back 5 years ago, I called him Prince and he called me Princess. Is it not sweet? There's a nice feeling inside of you that lights up when you hear somebody calling you like that. If you don't find it special well I do. :D I am easy to be pleased and that's just me.
Though we called each other honey, sweety, baby and etc as our relationship gets deeper and deeper the thing of how you take good care of a Prince and Princess still there. I just remembered when I was sick and he never slept at all just to monitor my temperature and to give me medicines on time. I also remember my cousin telling me that "you should not marry a foreigner coz they don't know how to care". I just proved that with my Sweety. He cooked for me and so I recovered earlier with that very high fever. He gave me tylenol, ibuprofen and all kinds of medicine and above all is the love of doing it for me.
So I've thought of writing about this because I am so proud of my Sweety. Proud that he is not just a kano but a very loving, caring hubby that is willing to do everything for me. Today, he came home feeling bad and I am hoping it won't be like mine because it would be terrible for him. It's not that I am not going to take good care of him but as he needs to work tomorrow. I had him eaten his dinner and so he could relax earlier. I'm gonna get something for him to make this colds a lot better tomorrow.
So I got go to for now needs to make a hot tea for my Prince.

Hazel's introduction..

My name is Hazel, 25 years old and a full time wife to my wonderful husband. I was born in the Philippines and live here in the USA. We don't have kids yet but we are planning for that soon.
I love surfing on the net, chatting and blogging. I am shy I guess as everyone says but very friendly when you get to know me more. I came from a family of two and being the youngest is the most part that I love about my life. I would really say that I was the princess of our family but it is still like that with my hubby. I hope you'll have fun reading my post. I am not a perfect writer but I am just sharing my great stories and experiences here. Have fun everyone ! !

I lost weight

One thing I've observed when I first got here is the foods. It's all fatty and if you don't keep up with what your eating it will really add to your normal calories. And soon you'll find out that your belly is hanging already :D.
I gain a lot of weight for a few months of being here. I'm really worried because my belly and my weight was not right for me. My husband bought me a scale so I can keep the record of how many pounds are added to my normal weight. I hate my body really.
Last week, my husband went to a business trip for 5 days. I think that trip have brought two things for me. First, I was lonely for I was missing him really bad. Second, because I was lonely that I forgot eating which made me lost weight which is so cool. I told my husband well I guess it was better for you not to be here with me all the time. LOL :)
I am doing now is keeping track of all the foods that I am eating. Also, doing this 40-30-30 zone diet which is amazing. You are eating a well balanced carbohydrates-protein and fat and yet you are still losing pounds. It is hard at first to plan for your meal everyday. My husband started it last week so I hope this all pretty goes well and that we will be strong not to crave for those ice creams, chocolate cakes and etc.
I'll keep updating about this and share the pros and cons of this. :)
Goodluck for us ! ! !

Lonely wifey

I am kind of lonely now coz my hubby is in VA and WA for 4 days. I won't be seeing him for 4 days and it's a long time for both of us. I hate it when he has to go somewhere for work and I am stuck here alone. But anyway, we talked on the phone while his away by the computer like he is just next to me. It's still not the same. We webcam too but it's still not the same. I'll just wait patiently I guess. :)
