OOTD? How about VOTD?

I have been following some vloggers on youtube and they showcase makeup tutorials, shopping hauls, and their OOTD. Eh? Yeah that was my response too before I know what it meant. Outfit Of The Day thst is - OOTD. They are just simply showing what their wearing that day where they got it or sometimes how much. Now have you thought of sharing your VOTD to your facebook page or pinterest or on youtube? I haven't to be honest and something is bothering me. Do you think anybody would be interested to watch or read my VOTD? Probably not because it is not as interesting as OOTD or makeup tutorials or shopping hauls.

I will share it anyway because I think this is what I need to do. And believe me I did not spend a penny or it is not the tag of the season. Or not the trend right now but this what everyone should ought to do. Read your Verse Of The Day.

1 Thesalonians 5:17-18

Pray without ceasing in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.

Filipinos are Herbal guru's...

This post reminds me of my grandma and when she was still around. She would just grabbed something from her garden and either wrap it in banana leaves. Put it on the charcoal and then after it gets warms put it all over my body. It felt good and somehow helped me to get some relief. W ow ! ! isn't that awesome to have your own pharmacy in your backyard.

Yeah Filipinos can't just call their doctors and ask  prescription then drive thru somewhere to pick it up except they relies on herbal medicines and planting it in their backyard. Or sometimes it could be a weed and you'll be surprise it will stop your bleeding from a cut.

So I used what I remember from my Mom to my Hubby who got really sick last Thursday. I know you probably thinking I am some "Doctor Quack". LOL... He was willing to try it and so I did. I toasted a ginger root on the stove then I put in in an old sock and then pound it so the juices would come out. I then rubbed it all over him and he said later then that it feels good. So don't know if it did really helped him but you know sometimes you missed those things from the Philippines. The "hilot" - massage which is so cheap and you can get it right away.

September 11,2013 - Very important to remember here in the US.

I cannot believe it's been 12 years since the 9/11. I remember that I was in my logic class in college and it didn't occur to me that I'll be here and am proud to be her. My home now...

Anyway, went to the Asian market and picked up some sticky rice, Magic Creams( if you are Filipino) you know this and some boy bawang. Oh yeah can't wait to eat it . The Crispy Sea snacks are seasoned seaweeds. They are really good.

We found some sticky rice cake and I was really skeptical to eat it but it was pretty good actually I have to say that.

A good nap after all those snackies was a must ! !

Hooray I'm back...

Hello guys...

Wow.. It's been so long... So many things happened and changed. Gosh ! where do I start? Well, maybe by saying I am just not a housewife  now but I am also a Mommy of a 2 year old cutie pie. Wait a HAPPY Mommy. Yeah ! it's been that long since I posted something here. SORRY ! ! ! Hubby quit smoking for almost 2 years. I know right ? Talking about answered prayer.

What else.. I've been couponing for a year now and really loving it. I think it is addicting cause I am totally crazy about the good deals. Before I started, I've been watching the TLC show Extreme Couponing and didn't believe that it is possible to have a negative subtotal. But OMG when you get there, you'll be hooked. I cannot wait for the sales for the coming week so I can plan my transactions. It is very nerve-racking but it is really worth it. I have accumulated a bunch of stuff that I would have never gotten because it is not my priority like make ups, dozens of shampoos and conditioner. I know what you're thinking right now who needs that much of shampoo and conditioner or that she just probably just have a very dirty hair. OK ! ! see how much I love couponing that I am going on and on. I better stop  and move on..

I have been cooking and baking a lot. I love that my Bestfriend, my sister here in the US is so close to me right now and I can spoil her with my cooking. She says she loves my foods so hopefully that's true. As you might know I am Filipino so yeah I always cook Pinoy foods.

Oh and OH .... I joined zumba too like a year ago.  Still is ..It's awesome ! ! Our instructor is really good and so it really reminds me of the time when I was in college and a member of our dance troupe. I miss those guys... Hecyl Weddle, Sherry Amor Fernandez, Edelyn Neri, Amerie Mondelo. Everytime I go there, my mind just wander back to those days.. SIGH... But I think when you have a kid you don't have that energy you used to have then. Plus you know there's your age that keeps climbing thank God for that (wink).

So not to make this boring to read, I am going to be posting from day to day about me and my life being a Mommy. You know just random stuff..

Alright ! ! if you are not a follower then common and join me. Let's learn from each other.

Recipe

I cooked siopao last week. It was my first time to make that siopao I had in the Philippines. Wow ! ! when we are away from our country or from the family, we've got to learned so many things specially cooking. It's like making a tryout but it turned out right. So happy for that and my Sweety had it for the whole week as lunch. That was amazing that he does not have to buy foods or even to go out to eat.
I made a beef siopao. Yeah, I know it's new to all of you but it was really good. I didn't had ground pork at that time and couldn't wait.

I love trying new things but not quiete that adventurous yet. LOL I love cooking too and not a good cook yet hehhe. It just so fun to have your first try.

Every Morning

I was actually told over and over in my mind and in my heart to share this feeling to everyone who'll be reading my blog. Praise God every morning, thank Him for the awesome goodness or even the bitterness of our lives, for it is new every morning. Every morning - is a new life for all of us.
I know it is hard to do that specially in the bitterness of our lives but let me share this passage for you :

Romans: 8:28 - And we know that God causes things to work for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Let us realize how wonderful it is that God is our Father that He gave us every morning of new hope and peace of mind.

This song would remind you of everything : Great is Thy Faithfullness

A prayer wouldn't hurt to start our day. It will uplift us for the rest of our days, our plans and desires. No one knows what's best for us but only Jesus. So let us not forget that He is always there for us no matter what. In this times we have no one to hang on but to HIM. For it says :

Matthew 11:28 - Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I hope that this piece of encouragement (simply written) would help us draw more closer to God.

God Bless everyone ! ! !

Clogged sinks

Grrr... our sinks has been clogged for two weeks already. 2 weeks :O it's really surprising how come it's never been resolved. I don't know what's been dumped there by me or my husband since it's only the two of us here in our house. It could mostly be blamed by me because I often use it a couple of times everyday.
We tried a lot of clogging device like the snakes and some sort of stick. My husband did it one night ( that's his only vacant time) and it didn't work. While he was doing this, I remembered that in the Philippines we only used a stick or even a broomstick to take out the clogged drainage or sink. We tried it and it didn't work. So left it clogged and finally the next night decided to go the store for a commercial stuff to help with this problem.
So here we are, we got this DRAINO called stuff. It's liquid and glue. It supposedly act as a mechanism to take all this stuff that causes the clog. Here's more- money back guarantee and so wow ! if it does not work let's take it back to the store. Ok enough with that money thing, it actually didn't work. Sigh ! ! Our problem is probably too much for this Draino to handle. We didn't take it back to the store to get our money. I mean it's ok and it's just a few dollars.
Next stop- WALMART to get another kind. It's called Main Line Cleaner and there's the big Guarante to work marked on the side of the container. So we agreed we'll give it a try. It's a lot more expensive than the first one we got. Poured the whole gallon to the sink and leave it for 7-8 hours as it says on the direction. The following day, poured very hot water assuming that 7-8 hours had passed. I had the biggest smile for it actually worked. I hope it will continue to be like that. I have to be very careful though not to put anything on the sink so it won't happen again coz it's definitely a pain in butt.
One thing, please be very careful using this kind of stuffs, cause it can cause some harmful effects to your skin or even to your whole body. Read the directions carefully before doing or pouring it.
